Ectomycorrhizal Fungal Assemblages of Nursery-Grown Scots Pine are Influenced by Age of the Seedlings

چکیده
Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) is the most widely distributed species in Europe and relevant terms of planted areas harvest yields. Therefore, each year demand for planting stock exceedingly high, large quantities seedlings are produced annually throughout to carry out reforestation afforestation programs. Abundant diverse ectomycorrhizal (ECM) symbiosis critical success once field. To improve our knowledge ECM fungi that inhabit bare-root nursery understand factors influence their diversity, we studied assemblages present across 23 forest nurseries Poland. Nursery samples were characterized by a high level colonization (nearly 100%), total 29 fungal taxa found on 1- 2-year-old seedlings. The diversity community depended substantially age seedlings, richness varied from 3–10 1-year-old 6–13 communities developed prevalence Ascomycota over Basidiomycota members All ecological indices (diversity, dominance, evenness) significantly affected likely because dominant morphotypes (Wilcoxina mikolae) replaced other ones (e.g., Suillus luteus, Rhizopogon roseolus, Thelephora terrestris, Hebeloma crustuliniforme), mostly Basidiomycota, Across all nurseries, negative correlations identified metrics soil N or C, indicating mineral organic fertilization contributes differences nurseries. We discuss practical implications composition occurring pine.

Ectomycorrhizal Fungi and Mineral Interactions in the Rhizosphere of Scots and Red Pine Seedlings
Ectomycorrhizal fungi and associated bacteria play a key role in plant-driven mineral weathering and uptake of mineral-derived nutrients in the rhizosphere. The goal of this study was to investigate the physical and chemical characteristics of bacteria-fungi-mineral interactions in biofilms of Scots and red pine rhizospheres. In three experiments, seedlings were grown in columns containing sili...
متن کاملGrowth responses of scots pine seedlings grown in peat-based media amended with natural zeolite.
Zeolite has many good features that makes it very attractive for nursery use as a growing media over others. This study was designed to investigate influence of different growing media and their mixtures (with zeolite and without zeolite) on morphological characters of scots pine seedlings. Twenty-one treatments of varying amounts of peat, fine pumice, coarse pumice, river sand, perlite and riv...

Seasonal Ectomycorrhizal Fungal Biomass Development on Loblolly Pine (pr'nus Faeda L.) Seedlings
Ergosterol, a membrane sterol found in fungi but not in plants, was used to estimate live mycelial biomass in ectomycorrhizae. Loblolly pine (Pinus tueda L.) seeds were sown in April 1993 and grown with standard nursery culture practices. Correlations between total seedling ergosterol and visual assessment of mycorrhizal colonization were high during July and August but low as ectomycorrhizal d...
